Astana's Voice of a New Day unites 1,500 students in patriotic song ahead of national holidays
A musical contest named Voice of a New Day took place in Astana ahead of two key national holidays. The event brought together 1,500 students from ten technical and vocational schools. Organisers aimed to celebrate patriotism and the importance of peace through music and performance.
The contest was held on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day (May 7) and Victory Day (May 9). It highlighted themes of courage, unity, and national pride. The student club Zhas Sarbaz organised the event as part of the Shabyt cultural initiative and the Adal Azamat patriotic program.
Participants performed songs reflecting Kazakhstan’s modern values, aligning with the *Adal Azamat* program’s principles. Distinguished guests attended, including officials from the Department of Education, the Educational and Methodological Center, and servicemembers. The male choir of the National Guard’s Song and Dance Ensemble also took part. The closing act featured a student performance that artistically depicted the State Flag and a map of Kazakhstan. Didar Baitasov, director of the Educational and Methodological Center, thanked all teams for their involvement. He stressed the event’s role in fostering patriotism and reinforcing the ideals of peace and friendship. Astana Polytechnic College partnered with the Educational and Methodological Center to coordinate the contest.
The Voice of a New Day contest showcased student talent while honouring national values. It served as a reminder of the significance of peace, bravery, and unity in the lead-up to two major commemorative dates. The performances and artistic displays reinforced the event’s patriotic message.
