Cheistha Kochhar Foundation and JIBS Partner to Drive Social Impact Through Behavioral Science
The Cheistha Kochhar Foundation and the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a strategic partnership. The agreement focuses on using behavioural science to create scalable social impact, develop leadership, and engage communities through practical, evidence-based solutions. The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Pulkit Khanna, Dean of JIBS, and Lt. Gen. Dr. S.P. Kochhar, Founder of the Cheistha Kochhar Foundation. Both leaders emphasised the importance of collaboration in driving innovation and real-world impact.
Lt. Gen. Dr. Kochhar highlighted how Nudge practice can shape inclusive development, aligning with the vision of the late Cheistha Kochhar. Prashant Gautam, Cheistha’s husband, also spoke about the increasing role of nudge theory and behavioural science in social interventions and public policy. The event brought together academics, practitioners, and stakeholders to exchange ideas. Dr. Khanna expressed confidence that the partnership would lead to meaningful research, practical interventions, and lasting benefits for diverse communities. The programme concluded with an awards ceremony. The Cheistha Kochhar Rolling Trophy was presented to participants from Christ University, NCR Delhi, for their project 'GreenCart Default'.
The partnership aims to bridge academic research with real-world implementation through context-sensitive, outcome-driven interventions. By combining expertise from both organisations, the initiative seeks to create measurable social impact and strengthen leadership development across communities.
