Russian educators unite to advance agrotechnological project-based learning
A group of 92 educators from five Russian regions gathered at Ural State Agrarian University for an advanced training session. The event, held on April 29, focused on project-based learning in agrotechnological studies. Teachers shared their work in fields like agronomy, biotechnology, and landscape design.
The program was organised by Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University in a blended format. During the in-person phase, teachers presented projects on topics such as crop production, animal husbandry, and water quality analysis. Some research explored plant growth factors, biofertilizers, and organomineral experiments.
Several initiatives aimed at improving school environments, including landscape design and eco-laboratories for summer camps. Natalia Lomovtseva, Vice Rector for Educational Activities, highlighted the practical value of the projects. She noted their high development standards and real-world applications. Larisa Dobrotvorskaya, a teacher from School No. 80 in Sverdlovsk Oblast, praised the program for offering useful tools and methodologies. The best projects were shortlisted by experts for regional and federal competitions. Participating schools also planned to implement the ideas in their own regions.
The event brought together educators from Sverdlovsk Oblast, Yamal-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi, Kurgan Oblast, and Tyumen Oblast. Their projects covered diverse areas, from water analysis to sustainable farming techniques. The recommendations and adopted ideas will now be put into practice across the participating regions.
