Pearson's AI study tool boosts student grades and pass rates significantly

Students using Pearson’s AI study tool have seen noticeable improvements in grades and pass rates. New data from the company’s virtual learning schools shows higher scores across different subjects. The tool, which provides guided explanations rather than just answers, appears to be making a difference.

In Biology courses, students using the AI tool achieved pass rates 11 percent higher than their peers. Their final course scores also rose by five percent. The tool’s approach—offering step-by-step instructions and clear explanations—seems to help learners grasp material more effectively.

World History students saw similar benefits. Those who used the AI study aid experienced a seven percent increase in pass rates. Their final scores also climbed by five percent, matching the gains observed in Biology. Pearson now plans to expand the tool’s use. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, it will be introduced in middle and high school Algebra courses. The move follows positive results from its current implementation in virtual learning environments.

The data suggests Pearson’s AI study tool is helping students perform better in key subjects. With higher pass rates and improved scores, the company is now looking to bring the technology to more classrooms. Expansion into Algebra courses will begin in the next academic year.
