Kazakhstan sends record 225 students to global robotics championship
One of the world’s largest engineering tournaments for school students has begun in the U.S. The event brings together young innovators from across the globe to compete in robotics challenges. This year, Kazakhstan has sent its biggest delegation yet—225 schoolchildren from seven regions and cities.
The participants were chosen during the Central Asian stage of Alem Tech Fest, held in Astana. They will now develop engineering solutions, face off in matches, and push for a place in the final rounds. The championship is a major international robotics competition, drawing over 50,000 participants annually.
Kazakhstan’s delegation this year is nearly three times larger than last year’s. The teams come from Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Karaganda, Uralsk, Shchuchinsk, and the Turkestan region. The Ministry of Education highlighted that the rising numbers show steady progress in engineering education and student preparation. Since 2020, Kazakhstan has been expanding its presence in STEM fields. The country’s growing involvement in international technology competitions reflects a broader effort to strengthen technical skills among young learners.
The tournament will test the students’ problem-solving and teamwork under pressure. Kazakhstan’s expanded delegation signals a deeper commitment to fostering talent in robotics and engineering. The results will likely influence future participation in global STEM events.
