Russia's Architects.rf Program Opens Applications for 2024 Urban Planners

Applications are now open for the eighth cohort of the free "Architects.rf" program, part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." One hundred specialists from across Russia will be selected to participate. Applications will be accepted through April 12 on the program's official website.

Eligible candidates must hold a higher education degree and have experience in urban and territorial development. The program welcomes not only architects and urban planners but also professionals from related fields. The full list of requirements is available on the program's website.

The Primorsky Territory has already shown strong potential in previous cohorts. In 2023, finalists included renowned monumental artist Pavel Shugurov and architect Anna Shatunova, who designed the Ignatiev Square revitalization project in Vladivostok in 2020.

The selection process is multi-stage and demands thorough preparation. Applicants must complete a questionnaire, submit a portfolio, write an essay, and provide letters of recommendation. Experts will pay special attention to candidates' approaches to territorial planning, emphasizing reasonable and flexible principles.

Interdisciplinarity remains a core tenet of the program. Those who pass the initial screening will be invited for a video interview, with the final selection made by an expert committee forming the eighth cohort.

The nine-month educational program includes in-person modules, research expeditions across Russia and abroad, lectures by leading specialists, workshops, and collaborative project work. Participants will gain unique knowledge and hands-on experience to implement modern infrastructure solutions in their regions.
