Russia Launches Prestigious Scholarships for Future Teachers in 2026
Russia’s Ministry of Education has opened applications for a prestigious scholarship programme aimed at future teachers. The initiative, launched in 2025, offers financial support to talented students in pedagogical education. Ten scholarships will be awarded for the 2026/27 academic year, each providing a monthly stipend of 15,000 rubles.
The competition is organised by the Ministry of Education, with Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University acting as the operator. Applications are open to students who have shown exceptional achievements between March 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026. However, those graduating this year are not eligible to apply.
The scholarships honour renowned educators: A.S. Makarenko, V.A. Sukhomlinsky, K.D. Ushinsky, L.S. Vygotsky, and N.M. Karamzin. Each award will cover one academic year, offering recipients financial backing to continue their studies. To participate, students must submit their applications by 15:00 Moscow time on July 1, 2026. A full list of required documents and selection criteria is available on the ministry’s official website. The final list of winners will be approved by the Ministry of Education and published online. The programme is part of a broader effort to motivate future teachers and raise the status of the profession. The ministry oversees 36 pedagogical universities across Russia, ensuring wide participation in the initiative.
