Russia's Magadan Region launches Protection to safeguard children's rights

A major safety campaign codenamed Protection has begun in Russia’s Magadan Region. The operation focuses on preventing crimes against children while ensuring their rights and well-being. Activities will take place across the regional capital and all urban districts.

Law enforcement teams will visit families considered at risk. During these home checks, officers will assess living conditions and verify whether parents are meeting their responsibilities. Special attention will be given to children in vulnerable situations.

Children will take part in educational sessions on personal safety. These will cover risks in both real life and online environments. They will also learn where to find psychological support and other help if needed. Adults will receive reminders about administrative penalties for offences related to child welfare. The campaign aims to raise awareness while enforcing existing protections for minors.

The Protection operation combines home inspections, child safety training, and legal reminders for adults. Authorities intend to reduce risks to minors and strengthen support systems. The initiative will run across all urban areas of Magadan Region.
