Nostalgic Coin Exhibition Brings Childhood Icons to Life in Syktyvkar

A new photo exhibition has opened in Syktyvkar, offering a nostalgic look at beloved childhood characters. Journey into Childhood features commemorative coins decorated with figures from fairy tales, books, and cartoons. The display is now available at Library No. 13 on Pushkin Street. The exhibition is organised by the Bank of Russia’s Komi Republic branch. Visitors can see coins depicting iconic characters like Ded Moroz, Winnie the Pooh, and Cheburashka. Other designs include Crocodile Gena, the Barboskins, and Masha and the Bear.

The coins highlight advanced minting techniques. Methods such as colour lacquer printing, laser engraving, and selective gilding bring the characters to life. Each piece showcases intricate craftsmanship and attention to detail. The display runs until June 15. Library No. 13, located at 115 Pushkin Street, hosts the event during regular opening hours. Entry is free for all visitors.

The exhibition gives locals a chance to explore rare commemorative coins until mid-June. The combination of nostalgic themes and expert minting makes it a unique attraction. Those interested can visit Library No. 13 without charge.
