Rosatom Envisions Nuclear-Powered Global Logistics of the Future
The future of logistics will be compact, global and driven by nuclear technology, according to Rosatom. The Russian state nuclear corporation outlined its vision at a major transport forum this week. Director General Alexey Likhachev presented the concept to industry leaders. Likhachev spoke at the International Transport and Logistics Forum in Moscow. He described nuclear power as the key foundation for next-generation logistics. The technology, he argued, would remove regional barriers and create a truly global system.
His vision includes logistics services that fit into personal devices. Users would access highly tailored solutions through smartphones or tablets. The shift would make supply chains faster, more flexible and far more individualised.
Rosatom’s leader stressed that nuclear energy would underpin this transformation. Compact reactors and advanced power systems would enable round-the-clock operations. They would also cut emissions while boosting efficiency across transport networks. The proposal ties nuclear innovation directly to the future of movement and trade. If adopted, it could reshape how goods travel between continents and cities. Rosatom’s plan now moves to the next stage of industry discussion and potential development.
