Khabarovsk Unites for Biblionight 2026 with Ethnocultural Celebrations

Khabarovsk is preparing for Biblionight 2026, a city-wide celebration of Russia’s ethnocultural heritage. The event, themed around the Year of National Unity, will run from April 17 to 18 with activities for all ages. Libraries across the city have planned workshops, film screenings, and interactive experiences to bring people together through literature and tradition. The festivities begin on April 17 at the Navolochkin Regional Children’s Library. Young visitors can join workshops on crafting Mezen wooden horses and dressing dolls in traditional ethnic costumes. Later that day, a meeting with writer Yelena Nemenko and Andrey Ten, a distinguished artist of Khabarovsk Krai, will take place at the same venue.

The main event unfolds on April 18 at the Far Eastern State Scientific Library, the city’s largest hub for Biblionight. From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, attendees can watch animated films about Russia’s peoples and enjoy the puppet show Telunge: Magical Tales (6+). Films by Albert Samoilov and the Expeditionary Video Studio SEVEN will also be screened. An interactive AI experience will let visitors step into the roles of characters from Dmitry Nagishkin’s fairy tales.

Meanwhile, the Gaidar Library will host Night of Unity: Books Bring Russia’s Peoples Together (6+), exploring themes of friendship and cultural exchange through literature. Biblionight 2026 will highlight Khabarovsk’s diverse traditions through storytelling, crafts, and technology. The event aligns with President Vladimir Putin’s declaration of the Year of National Unity. Organisers aim to foster connections among residents through shared cultural experiences.
