Panvel's free acting camp opens May 11—register before slots vanish
A free acting training camp organised by the Panvel Municipal Corporation will begin on May 11. The initiative, run in partnership with the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad (Panvel branch), aims to nurture artistic talent and boost theatre culture across the region. Registration is open, but spaces are filling up fast. The camp will run at three locations: Panvel, Kharghar, and Kalamboli. Each centre will host two age groups—youth (8-16 years) and adults (17-65 years). A special batch for teachers and professors has also been arranged at the Kalamboli centre.
Advanced-level sessions are planned for Panvel and Kharghar. However, senior batches at these two centres have already reached full capacity. Only a handful of seats remain in select groups, particularly in Kalamboli. Participation is free, but limited to 30 candidates per group on a first-come, first-served basis. The response so far has been overwhelming, with many slots already taken.
The camp seeks to expand cultural activities within the civic body’s jurisdiction. With most batches nearly full, interested participants are encouraged to secure their spots soon. Training will cover various aspects of theatre, offering opportunities for both beginners and experienced performers.
