Helmstedt expands nursing training with two new 2027 programmes

The Helmstedt-Pflege-Zukunft alliance has strengthened its coordination office to manage two new nursing training programmes. One of these, the Pflegefachassistenz qualification, is set to launch in 2027. The move comes as demand for nursing instructors remains high despite recent staffing boosts at the BBS Helmstedt vocational school. The BBS Helmstedt Vocational Training Center has been confirmed as the educational partner for the generalist nursing qualification under the alliance. Its facilities have already been modernised, with further expansion planned to accommodate growing needs. The shift to the new Pflegefachassistenz programme will require even more qualified teaching staff.

Trainee nursing assistants and first-year generalist nursing students will now have dedicated classes in Helmstedt. The alliance has also opened remaining training spots to external nursing providers. This collaboration could allow at least one extra class to be filled, easing pressure on capacity.

The alliance’s restructured coordination office will oversee both the generalist nursing programme and the upcoming Pflegefachassistenz training. With updated facilities and plans for expansion, BBS Helmstedt is preparing for increased demand. External partnerships will help fill additional training places where needed.
