First Student secures Seneca Valley contract with AI-powered school bus safety tech

First Student has secured a new contract to provide school transportation for Seneca Valley School District. The agreement begins with the upcoming academic year and introduces modern safety technology for students and families. District leaders and company executives have welcomed the partnership as a step toward more reliable services.

Meanwhile, other education-focused companies have announced new initiatives. Renaissance has launched a nationwide rap contest, while UNiDAYS is teaming up with HMRC to support student finances. In the tech sector, Canva and Cengage Work are expanding their AI-driven offerings for users and professionals alike. First Student will take over transportation for Seneca Valley School District at the start of the new school year. The company’s fleet will use HALO technology, giving real-time visibility and enhanced safety features. Families will also access the FirstView app, allowing them to track buses and receive updates.

Dr. Tracy Vitale, the district’s superintendent, praised the collaboration for improving safety and reliability. Brian Fitzgerald, a senior executive at First Student, described the move as part of a broader shift toward connected, student-focused transport. John Kenning, the company’s CEO, emphasised how these tools would offer peace of mind to guardians and caregivers.
