Neuwied graduates defy odds with stellar 1.7 average grade
Seventeen students at Neuwied Adult Education Center have successfully completed their school-leaving qualifications. The graduates earned an impressive average grade of 1.7, with three achieving top marks in every subject. Their hard work was celebrated at a ceremony attended by Mayor Peter Jung and the centre’s director.
The vocational preparation course required dedication, as many participants balanced jobs and family commitments alongside their studies. Some also had to master German while working towards their qualifications. Despite these challenges, the group thrived under the guidance of program coordinator Yuliya Meißen and the teaching staff.
Mayor Jung and Adult Education Center Director Jutta Günther presented the certificates. Jung highlighted that education has no age or background limits—only determination and a willingness to shape one’s future. He praised the graduates for their perseverance and commitment. The centre offers a variety of support programmes for those seeking school-leaving qualifications. Graduates were encouraged to pursue further education, vocational training, or careers as their next steps.
The ceremony marked the end of a demanding but rewarding journey for the graduates. With their qualifications secured, they now move forward into new opportunities. The centre’s staff and local officials wished them continued success in their future endeavours.
