Magadan's preschoolers honour Victory Day with wartime songs and tributes
Preschoolers from Magadan’s kindergartens gathered at Victory Square to honour the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Over 200 children and 30 teachers from nine kindergartens took part in a musical flash mob titled We Will Keep Memory in Our Hearts. The event began with the children performing the wartime classic Katyusha on the eve of Victory Day. Passersby in the square soon joined in, singing Apple and Pear Trees Are in Bloom alongside the young performers.
After the songs, flowers were placed at the base of the *Knot of Memory* monument. A moment of silence followed to honour those who lost their lives in the war. The children were greeted by Zoya Vasilyevna Mulekina, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and home front worker. Victoria Golubeva, Deputy Chair of the Magadan Regional Duma, and lawmaker Andrey Aksenov also addressed the performers. The flash mob was organised by the Magadan branch of the All-Russian Public Organization *Educators of Russia*, marking its fifth consecutive year.
The event brought together children, teachers, and residents to commemorate the war’s legacy. The performances and tributes ensured the memory of the Great Patriotic War remained alive in the community.
