Magadan seniors master smartphones in free digital literacy course
MAGADAN, April 30 – A new session of the digital literacy course "On Friendly Terms with Your Smartphone" has wrapped up at Magadan's Kuvayev Library, with ten senior participants completing the program, the city Duma's press service reports.
Over the intensive training, attendees honed their skills in using various apps and digital platforms, explored the capabilities of artificial intelligence, and learned the basics of photography.
Each graduate received a diploma and a gift certificate to a local fabric store. The courses are part of United Russia's "Senior Generation" party initiative.
Alexander Vakhov, a deputy in the Magadan City Duma, underscored the importance of such programs for the region's residents:
"Today, phones are an essential part of daily life. Devices give us access to information, instant communication, and the ability to use social platforms—including Gosuslugi [Russia's public services portal]—so these courses will always be in demand among older adults."
