School 800 Marks Three Years: A New Model of Education Takes Shape

The first students were enrolled in 2023.

School 800 has summed up its first three years of operation. A celebratory event marking the milestone was held on April 28 at the Verkhniye Pechery campus, attended by Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Gleb Nikitin, regional Education Minister Mikhail Puchkov, university rectors, staff and students of School 800, and their parents. A correspondent from the Vremya N news agency covered the occasion.

The school's journey began in 2022, when the Verkhniye Pechery campus was commissioned (two additional campuses are located in the Avtozavodsky and Sormovsky districts) and an educational license was obtained. From the outset, School 800 was conceived as a federal-level educational project.

Full-scale instruction launched in 2023. In February, the Verkhniye Pechery campus opened its doors to 500 students, and seven months later, in September 2023, classes began at the Avtozavod campus. With the opening of the third campus in 2024, the school reached its full capacity.

Rejecting the traditional model of tutoring and exam cramming, School 800 developed a comprehensive preparation system that includes not only subject-specific courses but also psychological support for students.

In 2025, the first graduating class sat for their Unified State Exams (USE). Nearly one in three students achieved high scores—earning over 80 points in at least one subject.

"School 800 sees its mission as demonstrating how to build an open, forward-thinking school where academic results empower graduates to make informed choices and pave their way to a successful life," said Director Mark Sartan.

Currently, the school's three campuses educate 2,800 students across 121 classes. As enrollment grows, so does the staff: the team now numbers over 400.
