Krasnodar schools shine in Russia's patriotic museum contest with 80 bold entries

Schools across Krasnodar Krai have taken part in the All-Russian School Museum Contest, with 80 submissions from the region. The competition, backed by President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Ministry of Education, highlights projects on history, local heritage, and military remembrance. Many entries focused on honouring defenders of the Fatherland, reflecting a nationwide trend. Two schools in the region stood out for their creative approaches. School No. 13 in Armavir entered the 'Best Exhibition Dedicated to the Memory of Defenders of the Fatherland' category. Their display included 280 historical artifacts and a detailed 3D diorama. Meanwhile, Lyceum No. 1 in Slavyansk-on-Kuban developed a 'phygital' museum—a blend of physical and digital elements—for the 'Best Historical Exhibition' category. Their project featured scaled rocket models and augmented reality experiences.

Most applications from Krasnodar Krai fell into these two categories, mirroring the national pattern. Across Russia, 43% of the 4,600 submissions honoured military defenders, while 23% explored ethnography and local history. The region ranked 10th nationwide and 2nd in the Southern Federal District. Beyond submissions, 42 local museums hosted educational events tied to the contest. These included 966 sessions attended by over 20,000 students, many focusing on the special military operation. All participants will receive ongoing support, including expert guidance and online mentoring. Final evaluations will take place in autumn 2026 at the 'Memory Lives On' forum in Moscow.

The contest has engaged thousands of students in historical and patriotic projects. Krasnodar Krai’s strong showing reflects its active participation in national educational initiatives. Winners will be announced at the Moscow forum, where top entries will be recognised for their contributions.
