Kazakhstan's Pavlodar region reports record growth in 2025 under Tokayev's leadership
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received a detailed report on the socio-economic progress of Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar region in 2025. The review highlights strong growth across all major sectors, including industry, agriculture, and employment. The Pavlodar region remains a key industrial hub, producing 58% of the country’s coal and ferroalloys, as well as 42% of its electricity. Industrial output reached 4.1 trillion tenge last year, while agricultural production climbed by 9.6%, totaling 571.4 billion tenge.
Investment surged by over 47%, with 1.3 trillion tenge flowing into the region. This boost helped create more than 30,000 new jobs. Additionally, rural infrastructure saw major improvements, with 100% of the countryside now connected to clean drinking water. During the presentation, President Tokayev stressed the need to strengthen transport links. He instructed the governor to explore opening a new airport in Ekibastuz. The head of state also called for further investment, expanded social infrastructure, and modernised utility systems across the region.
The Pavlodar region’s economic performance in 2025 reflects broad-based growth and rising investment. With ongoing projects in infrastructure and industry, the area is set to maintain its role as a vital driver of Kazakhstan’s economy.
