JEE Main 2026 results out: Female candidates lead in B.Arch and B.Planning exams

JEE Main 2026 results out: Female candidates lead in B.Arch and B.Planning exams

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final results and scores for JEE Main 2026 Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning). Over one lakh candidates registered for the exams, with a slight majority of female applicants in several categories. A total of 1,00,913 candidates registered for JEE Main 2026 across all categories. Of these, 51,601 were male and 49,312 were female. However, only 71,423 candidates actually appeared for the exams, with 35,531 male and 35,892 female participants.

For Paper 2 (B.Arch and B.Planning combined), 30,690 candidates registered, but just 23,898 took the test. In B.Arch (Paper 2A), 22,002 registered, with 17,227 appearing. Meanwhile, B.Planning (Paper 2B) saw 8,688 registrations and 6,671 appearances. The General category stood out, with 13,547 female candidates compared to 10,854 male candidates. In contrast, the OBC-NCL category showed nearly equal numbers of male and female applicants.

The results confirm a higher turnout among female candidates in certain categories, particularly the General section. With the NTA scores now declared, successful candidates will proceed to the next stages of admission. The overall attendance rate remained below registration figures across all papers.
