How Tesla's Cybertruck Became a Mobile Workshop and Office

The Tesla Cybertruck is proving to be more than just an electric pickup. Owners like Tim Carrender have transformed it into a mobile workshop, office, and even a remote workstation. Its rugged design, power capacity, and smart features make it a versatile tool for off-grid tasks and travel. Tim Carrender drew on his experience from installing car stereos to upgrade the Cybertruck’s electrical system. He created a more stable power feed, ensuring reliable energy for tools and devices. Inside the cabin, he fitted a Starlink Mini, turning the vehicle into a connected workspace for remote work.

The Cybertruck’s 48-volt architecture and strong accessory power easily supported the satellite hardware. Initially, the onboard AI assistant, Grok, suggested powering the Starlink Mini via USB-C, but the setup struggled to maintain a signal. Despite this, the truck’s high-capacity battery and integrated power outlets allowed Carrender to run equipment without external generators. Beyond connectivity, the Cybertruck’s design enhances practicality. Its low centre of gravity, thanks to battery placement, keeps the ride stable at speed. The cargo bed features durable composite flooring and built-in power outlets, ideal for hauling gear. Even its sharp, angular shape sets it apart from traditional rounded pickups, creating a distinct aerodynamic profile. Tesla’s vision for the Cybertruck goes beyond transport. With ample interior space, robust power supply, and a sturdy build, it functions as a workshop, office, or even a mobile base for extended travel.

The Cybertruck’s combination of power, durability, and adaptability opens up new possibilities for owners. From remote work setups to off-grid projects, its design supports a range of practical applications. For those like Carrender, it’s not just a vehicle—it’s a tool for work and adventure.
