Free CAD and CAM training for teachers in STEM Racing partnership
STEM Racing has teamed up with Autodesk to offer free training for teachers in four countries. The courses will cover Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Educators in the UK, USA, Germany, and India can join online at no cost.
The programme aims to bring CAD and CAM skills into STEM lessons. Students will get the chance to design and build their own race cars as part of the training.
The first course, Fusion Fundamentals CAD, starts in August and runs through September. It will teach 2D sketching, 3D modelling, assembly techniques, and rendering. Teachers will learn how to guide students in creating digital designs.
A second course, *Fusion Fundamentals CAM*, follows in late September and early October. This one focuses on CNC integration, toolpath creation, and machining simulation. Participants will explore how to turn digital models into physical parts. Both courses are fully online and free for eligible educators. The partnership between STEM Racing and Autodesk provides the tools and training needed. Teachers will gain skills to help students design, test, and manufacture mini race cars in the classroom.
The training will equip teachers with practical CAD and CAM knowledge. Students in their classes will then apply these skills to hands-on projects. The courses run from August to October, with registration open to educators in the four selected countries.
