48th Outstanding Mother Awards Honor Trailblazers and Raise $1.4M for No Kid Hungry

The 48th Annual Outstanding Mother Awards celebrated remarkable women making a difference in their families and communities. The event also raised a record-breaking $1.4 million for No Kid Hungry, a campaign fighting child hunger across the US. Among the honourees were high-profile figures from business, entertainment, and philanthropy.

The luncheon recognised seven mothers for their achievements and personal stories. Jennifer Foyle, president and executive creative director of American Eagle and Aerie, was honoured for her leadership in fashion and advocacy. Her daughter inspired Aerie’s #AerieReal campaign, which promotes body positivity by featuring unretouched images of real people.

Denise Magid, chief merchant of Bloomingdale’s, was also celebrated. Her grandmother’s resilience—raising four children through hardship—shaped Magid’s own values of strength and care. Grammy-winning artist Ciara, known for her music and philanthropy, received an award as well. The mother of four credited her husband, Russell Wilson, for supporting her in balancing a demanding career with family life. Jill Hazelbaker, Uber’s chief marketing officer and senior vice president of communications, was another honouree. Her family relocated to Washington, D.C. to access better educational support for her daughter, who has a speech and language disorder. Giselli Veloz, senior program manager at LIFT-NY, was named the inaugural 'Rock Star Mom' for her dedication to empowering low-income families through her work.

The awards highlighted the diverse contributions of mothers in business, advocacy, and family life. Funds raised will support No Kid Hungry’s mission to end childhood hunger in the US. The event underscored how personal and professional achievements can drive meaningful change.
