Deadly Baltimore County crash leaves two teens dead, two critically injured
A single-vehicle crash in Baltimore County on Friday, May 1, has left two teenagers dead and two others seriously injured. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Poplar Hill Road near Merrymans Mill Road, close to Cockeysville. Authorities are now investigating what caused the tragedy.
The four boys had been out together, hitting golf balls and getting dinner, before the crash happened on their way home.
Ryan Duvall, 18, died at the scene of the collision. A student at Harford Community College, he held a first dan black belt in martial arts from Quest Martial Arts in Phoenix, Maryland. Friends and family described him as a role model with a warm personality who connected easily with others.
Sixteen-year-old Andrew Sober, a sophomore at Dulaney High School, passed away nearly a week later from his injuries. He was an active member of the NBU and Dulaney High soccer teams. His family has shared that he was an organ donor, bringing them comfort in knowing his organs helped save multiple lives. Two other minors in the vehicle suffered severe injuries. Liam O’Donoghue lost his left arm and broke both femurs. Orion Kicklighter also sustained injuries and faces a long recovery process. The group had spent the evening together before the crash cut their night short. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances leading up to the accident.
The crash has left two families grieving and two more teenagers facing difficult recoveries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released further details about what led to the fatal collision.
