WIFI Upper Austria trains 100,000 annually with evolving vocational programmes

WIFI, the adult education institute of Upper Austria, has been providing training and qualifications since 1946. Today, its programmes reach around 100,000 people across all twelve districts of the region each year. The institution continues to adapt, updating about 12 percent of its courses annually to meet changing needs. Every year, WIFI supports a wide range of learners. Around 6,000 to 7,000 clients engage with its Entrepreneur Academy alone. Another 3,700 individuals receive personalised education counselling to guide their career paths.

The institute plays a key role in technical and vocational training. It certifies 1,000 foreman-level professionals annually. Additionally, 40 percent of all engineering qualifications in Upper Austria are earned through WIFI programmes.

For apprentices, WIFI administers final exams to 10,000 candidates each year. Of these, 8,000 pass on their first attempt, while 2,000 must retake the test. The institute also offers 40 e-learning courses, expanding access to flexible education options. WIFI’s long-standing presence in Upper Austria ensures broad access to education and professional development. With updated courses, digital learning options, and strong exam pass rates, the institute remains a central part of the region’s workforce training. Its programmes continue to shape careers in engineering, entrepreneurship, and skilled trades.
