CSIR UGC NET December 2024 results declared for 1.7 lakh candidates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2024 examination. Over 1.7 lakh candidates took the test, which was conducted in late February and early March this year. The exam took place in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 326 centres in 164 cities. It ran over three days—February 28, March 1, and March 2, 2025—and covered five major subjects. Candidates were given until March 14, 2025, to challenge the provisional answer key.

A total of 2,38,451 candidates registered, but only 1,74,785 appeared. Among those who passed, 1,963 qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the CSIR scheme and are also eligible for Assistant Professor positions. Another 1,875 candidates secured the UGC JRF and can apply for Assistant Professor roles. Additionally, 10,969 candidates qualified solely for PhD admission. In all, 3,172 candidates are now eligible for both Assistant Professor posts and PhD programmes. Results and scorecards are available on the official website, accessible via application number and date of birth.

The exam saw a high number of participants, with nearly 1.75 lakh candidates taking the test. Successful candidates can now proceed with applications for research fellowships, teaching roles, or doctoral studies. The NTA has provided online access to individual results for verification and further steps.
