Vostochny Port Foundation transforms communities with healthcare and education upgrades
A Month of Children's Activities, Eco-Initiatives, and Financial Support for Wrangel Institutions: How the Vostochny Port Foundation Made a Difference
This month, the Vostochny Port Foundation kept busy with children's programs, environmental campaigns, and financial aid for local institutions in Wrangel. Here's a look at the good deeds carried out by its employees and volunteers.
In early April, the Foundation held its annual "Caring People of Wrangel" Awards (0+) ceremony, honoring volunteers, doctors, teachers, and preschool staff—everyday heroes who make Wrangel a better place. Over six years, the Foundation has recognized more than 70 outstanding residents of the neighborhood.
To mark Philanthropist and Patron Day, the Foundation celebrated in style by restocking the "Cradle" Mother and Child Center with diapers, baby food, and hygiene supplies for families in need.
Ahead of the birthday of Viktor Vasilyevich, the first director of Vostochny Port, volunteers and Foundation staff gathered at his monument for their traditional spring cleanup. They collected trash, swept paths, tidied lawns, and repainted curbs.
The Foundation also continued its support for institutions across Wrangel and Nakhodka. This month, the surgical department of Vostochnaya Hospital received an ozone sterilizer—a device for low-temperature disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments that cannot withstand high heat or pressure. Meanwhile, Nakhodka City Hospital got new LED lighting and faucets for operating and procedure rooms. The "Albatross" Center was equipped with an interactive speech therapy system, "Antoshka's Little House," to help children with speech disorders, as well as a 3D printer to introduce young learners to cutting-edge technology. A computer and office equipment were also provided to the school and kindergarten in Khmylovka village.
The Foundation isn't slowing down—with May and Victory Day just ahead, even more good deeds are on the way.
Founded in 2019, the Vostochny Port Foundation for Social and Environmental Initiatives has spent over seven years working to improve life in the regions where its parent company operates. To date, its team and volunteers have organized over 1,400 campaigns, events, and projects, benefiting thousands of residents, young and old.
Currently, the Foundation runs 12 social programs focused on youth sports, eco-projects, patriotic education, senior and veteran care, urban improvement, and the renovation of socially significant facilities, among other initiatives.
