The image shows a woman entrepreneur wearing a black and white jacket and an orange dress, standing in front of a backdrop of trees, vehicles, and the sky. On the right side of the image, there is a logo and some text which reads "A woman entrepreneur is a passionate woman who achieves her dreams. She is a woman with purpose, a gladiator of life in short, she is the creator of her success."

When a career or business collapses, a woman may feel as though she has ceased to exist. This is an identity crisis—but from that void, initiative emerges, and she returns in a new role, psychologist and bestselling author of Business Witches Svetlana Komarova told RIA MO.

How career collapse can spark a woman's powerful reinvention

"Initiation is a transition process where a person dies in one role and is reborn in another. The old work 'dies' to make way for something new. This isn't a catastrophe—it's a coming-of-age," she explained.

Komarova outlined four stages. The first is the destruction of the old life: everything once thought unshakable—position, status, social circle—crumbles. The second is trial by endurance, where fear and doubt become constant companions, yet this is where new traits of character are forged. The third is transformation: deep within the crisis, a woman begins to hear the part of herself she had long silenced. The fourth is the return in a new role—as a coach, an author, or a mentor.

"Layoffs or business failure are like an archaeologist's trowel, clearing away the rubble. It hurts at first, but with each layer removed comes greater self-recognition," Komarova noted.

Among the signs of transformation, she listed self-discovery, emotional freedom, physical harmony, spiritual maturity, and social recognition.
