Free Comic Book Day Festival Brings Fun to Carl Brandts Haus Library
Comic Festival for Young Readers at Carl Brandts Haus Central Library
On Saturday, May 9, the children's section of Carl Brandts Haus Central Library will transform into a mini-festival of illustrated stories from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event marks Free Comic Book Day, a nationwide initiative offering young readers and manga enthusiasts a selection of free comics—while supplies last.
The lineup spans everything from lighthearted tales to thrilling adventures, featuring classic comics alongside the latest manga titles. Each visitor may take up to three free issues. Beyond reading, an interactive station invites creativity: attendees can design their own artwork and print it on mugs or turn it into buttons right on the spot. A manga sale will also provide additional reading material, with proceeds from donations benefiting the library's Friends Association—a simple way to expand your home collection.
Admission is free, and no registration is required.
