UC San Diego Library centralizes key academic services in Eckart Building
UC San Diego Library provides a range of academic resources and services for students and researchers. These include course reserves, printing facilities, and access to specialised archives. Many of these services are now centrally located in the Eckart Building.
Students can find accessible course reserves in the lobby of the Eckart Building’s second floor. The materials are available Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
For printing needs, Scripps students have access to a large-scale printer in room 220B on the same floor. Technical support and supplies for the printer are managed by Academic Computing and Media Services. The library also offers books, ebooks, journal articles, and databases, along with reference assistance. Those needing help with resources can visit the library’s Get Help page. Meanwhile, the Scripps campus pick-up and drop-off point for library materials remains on the second floor of the Eckart Building. Access to Scripps Archives materials is restricted to appointment-only visits. Interested researchers must contact spcoll@our website to schedule a time.
The consolidation of services in the Eckart Building simplifies access for students and staff. Printing, course reserves, and material pick-ups are now all available on the second floor. Appointments remain necessary for archive visits, ensuring controlled access to specialised collections.
