TU Braunschweig Launches Cutting-Edge Master's in Battery Tech and Bioentrepreneurship
TU Braunschweig is expanding its academic offerings with two new specialised programs for the coming year. The university, known for its strong research and teaching, aims to prepare students for future careers in high-demand fields. Applications for these and other courses are now open, with deadlines approaching in July and October. Starting this autumn, TU Braunschweig will introduce a Master’s in Battery and Hydrogen Technology. The program responds to industry needs for experts in sustainable energy solutions. Students will train in advanced facilities, including the Battery LabFactory and the Circular Battery Cell Production Learning Factory.
The university is also launching a unique Bioentrepreneurship specialisation within its Biotechnology and Technology-Oriented Management master’s programs. Developed in partnership with the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI), this track is the first of its kind in Germany. It combines scientific expertise with business skills to support innovation in biotechnology.
TU Braunschweig currently offers 94 degree programs across engineering, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and economics. Prospective students can access tailored support through the Central Student Advisory Service, which provides one-on-one counselling, workshops, and orientation sessions. The university prides itself on short communication lines and a tight-knit student community.
According to President Professor Angela Ittel, the institution’s focus on outstanding teaching and research ensures graduates are well-equipped for their careers. She also highlights Braunschweig as a highly liveable city, adding to the university’s appeal.
Applications for restricted-admission programs close on July 15, 2026, while open-admission courses accept enrollments until October 15. The new programs in battery technology and bioentrepreneurship reflect TU Braunschweig’s commitment to addressing industry demands. With specialised facilities and strong academic partnerships, the university continues to expand opportunities for students.
