Russia's Znanie.Igra Quiz Tournament Crowns Champions in Epic Moscow Showdown

Our website, April 23 – The Znanie (Knowledge) team from Magadan's Ecology and Biology Lyceum has advanced to the final of the Znanie.Igra Quiz Tournament for schoolchildren and vocational college students. They will join ninety other teams of erudite competitors from eighty-nine regions of Russia, as well as from the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Belarus, at the in-person final in Moscow on May 15 at the Natsionalny Tsentr Rossiya (Russia National Center), the Magadan Regional Government's press service reports.

A total of twenty qualifying rounds were held for participants in this large-scale intellectual competition.

The winner from each Russian region will earn the right to compete in the final, scheduled for May 15, 2026, in Moscow. The event is expected to bring together up to five hundred participants. Following the final round, ten teams will be awarded: one absolute champion and nine runners-up, all of whom will receive valuable prizes from the tournament's partners.

The Znanie.Igra Tournament is included in the list of events recommended annually by Russia's Ministry of Education as part of the academic calendar for extracurricular activities. In addition to quiz competitions, the 2025–2026 season will feature a Sports What? Where? When? tournament, licensed by Igra-TV LLC. Teams in two age categories are invited to participate: school and vocational students (ages 14–18) and university students and young professionals (ages 18–25). Alongside the school and college track, the quiz division also includes a competition for university students, where teams of up to five members can test their logic and knowledge with questions ranging from puzzles to trivia.
