University Aims to Boost Graduate Numbers and Improve Training Quality
Kherson College of Fisheries merges with Kerch Maritime University to boost education
The Kherson College of Fisheries will become part of the Kerch State Maritime Technological University, the university's rector, Yevgeny Masyutkin, announced in an interview with Crimea 24.
According to Masyutkin, the education system is currently facing a decline in state-funded enrollment. The reasons vary—from salary levels and employment conditions to targeted student training and even research publication activity. The university is addressing these issues with the relevant ministries.
At the same time, officials expect the merger to yield tangible benefits, not only increasing the number of graduates but also enhancing the quality of specialist training for the industry.
