Russia's Young Strategies Contest 2026 Opens for Future Urban Innovators

The 7th All-Russian Contest Young Strategies of Russia has officially begun. This event supports young people who contribute to the socioeconomic growth of their local communities. It runs as part of the Strategic Planning in Russia’s Regions and Cities forum in St. Petersburg. The competition welcomes a wide range of participants. Students, school pupils, researchers, professionals, architects, and academics can all take part. Age groups span from 12 to 35, divided into four categories: 12–14, 15–17, 18–27, and 28–35.

Over thirty contest themes are on offer. These include *I Am My City’s Producer*, *Strategies for Creative Industries*, and *My Municipality’s Development Strategy*. The process unfolds in two stages: a remote preliminary round from May 20 to September 20, 2026, followed by an in-person final from October 28 to 30, 2026. Winners will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes. The top participant will receive a trip to the *Artek* international camp. Every finalist in the in-person stage will get a certificate, while mentors will be recognised with a letter of gratitude and a professional development certificate. The closing ceremony takes place on October 30, 2026, in St. Petersburg. It coincides with the 24th edition of the *Strategic Planning in Russia’s Regions and Cities* forum.

The contest provides a platform for young talent to showcase ideas for local development. Successful participants will gain recognition, prizes, and professional opportunities. The event also highlights the role of youth in shaping regional and urban strategies.
