Primorsky Krai sees tutoring boom as exam prep demand surges by 30%

A recent study by Avito Services has highlighted a sharp rise in demand for private tutoring in Russia’s Primorsky Krai. Parents and students are increasingly seeking extra academic support, particularly for exam preparation. The data reveals which subjects and tests are most in demand—and how much families are paying for lessons. The analysis shows that test preparation for the Basic State Exam (OGE) leads the market, with 48% of users searching for tutors in this area. The Unified State Exam (USE) follows closely behind, accounting for 39% of demand. Both subjects come with an average price tag of 1,000 rubles per academic hour.

Interest in foreign language proficiency exams has also surged. Requests for IELTS, TOEFL, and similar test preparation jumped by 30.5% compared to last year. This category now makes up 38% of all tutoring enquiries, with sessions costing around 1,200 rubles per hour. Another growing trend is the demand for tutors specialising in university entrance exams for specific fields. The number of offers for additional entrance tests (DVI) has more than doubled, rising by 2.5 times. Overall, the average cost of a tutoring session across subjects in Primorsky Krai sits at 1,100 rubles per academic hour.

The findings point to a clear focus on exam-driven tutoring in the region. Students and families are prioritising preparation for state tests, foreign language certifications, and university admissions. With costs varying between 1,000 and 1,200 rubles per hour, the market reflects both high demand and a willingness to invest in academic success.
