NT Careers Expo connects students with local employers in Darwin

The Study NT Careers and Jobs Expo took place at the Hilton Darwin on 22 April 2023. The event brought together students and local employers, aiming to highlight job opportunities and in-demand skills across the Northern Territory. This year’s expo featured 30 exhibitors from sectors like health, community services, engineering, and IT. Nearly 170 international students attended, engaging directly with potential employers. CatholicCare NT called the event a key chance to meet future candidates.

New for 2023, dedicated sessions covered CV writing, NT Government early career programs, and migration pathways. Employers noted strong student interest, particularly in graduate and casual positions. Many students later described the expo as useful for exploring career directions. Kelly Ralston, Deputy CEO of the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations, praised the event’s role in supporting both students and local businesses. The expo also aligns with the NT Government’s push to boost workforce participation and economic growth through skills development.

The expo provided a direct link between students and employers, with many attendees gaining clarity on job prospects. Feedback from both sides suggested the event helped bridge gaps in recruitment and career planning across the Territory.
