Krasnodar students shift from college to university ambitions by graduation
A recent SuperJob survey polled parents of ninth- and eleventh-grade school graduates in Krasnodar. Among parents of ninth-graders, 57% reported that their children plan to continue their education at college, while only 13% of parents of eleventh-graders said the same. Meanwhile, 64% of parents indicated that their children intend to enroll in universities, according to the findings.
By 2026, the most sought-after university fields, as predicted by parents, will be engineering and medicine, each chosen by 15% of respondents. IT-related programs ranked second in popularity (13%), followed by translation and linguistics (10%). Law and teaching also remain in demand (8% each), while PR management and economics were selected by 5% of parents.
Among applicants to colleges and technical schools, IT fields lead the way: 19% of parents said their children aim to become programmers or IT specialists. Skilled trades in construction and manufacturing came in second (18%), with medical professions in third place (13%). The top five also includes education (11%) and law and construction (7% each).
