How Think HQ Transformed from a $5K Startup to Australia's PR Powerhouse

Founded in 2010 with just $5,000 and a single client, Think HQ has grown into one of Australia’s most awarded communications agencies. By 2025, it earned the titles of Large Agency of the Year and Best PR Employer, cementing its place as an industry leader with a focus on social impact. Jen Sharpe launched Think HQ with a clear mission: to move beyond traditional PR metrics like billable hours and brand prestige. Instead, the agency prioritised campaigns that balanced profit with purpose, tackling issues such as mental health, racism, disability inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ visibility.

Over the years, the company expanded rapidly. In 2019, it acquired CultureVerse, a specialist multicultural agency. A Sydney office followed in 2022, and by 2023, Think HQ opened its flagship precinct, Tates Place, in Melbourne. Growth continued with the 2024 purchase of LOUD, a cultural communications agency, further strengthening its capabilities.

Today, Think HQ employs over 100 people, with a team that speaks 37 languages and includes 36% LGBTQIA+ representation. The agency’s integrated model allows it to run campaigns from strategy to execution under one roof. Its client list spans grassroots NGOs, government bodies, and global brands, all served by dedicated departments for multicultural and First Nations engagement, as well as an in-house ISO-accredited language services team. With a 15% average annual growth rate over the past five years, Think HQ has established itself as a major force in socially conscious communications. The agency’s awards, diverse team, and broad expertise position it to keep shaping campaigns that drive both business success and meaningful change.
