Emmendingen Students Explore Democracy Through Art in New Exhibition

An exhibition titled Democracy in Pictures will open at Haus am Festplatz in Emmendingen from May 11 to May 22, 2026. The event showcases artwork created by students from schools across the district, offering their perspectives on democracy in creative forms. The exhibition features a mix of paintings, collages, and installations. Each piece explores themes like civic participation, diversity, respect, and social cohesion. Visitors can also take part in interactive prompts and activities designed to deepen their understanding of democracy.

The event is free to attend during the opening hours of the vehicle registration office. No registration is needed, and the building is fully accessible. School groups are particularly encouraged to visit and engage with the works on display.

The exhibition aims to highlight how young people view democracy through art. By combining visual creativity with interactive elements, it provides a space for reflection and discussion. The event will run for nearly two weeks at Haus am Festplatz.
