Dubai's RTA strengthens rail safety with 7,129 inspections and key upgrades

According to the RTA, a total of 7,129 field visits were carried out along the rail right-of-way, leading to the identification of technical observations that were promptly addressed by field teams. These corrective actions were implemented in line with approved procedures to minimise risks and maintain operational continuity.

In addition to routine inspections, the authority conducted 11 targeted campaigns in collaboration with real estate developers and relevant entities. These campaigns covered all lines and stations, focusing on compliance with safety standards, infrastructure readiness, and contractor performance within the Railway Protection Zone.

Officials stated that the initiative is part of a broader strategy built on three core priorities. These include protecting rail assets to ensure long-term sustainability, enforcing regulatory compliance within designated zones, and strengthening coordination with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.

The RTA emphasised that these measures are aligned with a proactive regulatory framework designed to detect and address potential risks early. This approach supports Dubai's wider goal of maintaining a safe, reliable, and future-ready public transport system.

The authority confirmed it will continue periodic monitoring and awareness programmes in partnership with key stakeholders to uphold safety standards and protect passengers across the rail network.
