German Rail Gives Schoolgirls a Look Inside Rastatt Tunnel Construction for Girls' Day

As part of this year's Girls' Day, Deutsche Bahn offered female students an inside look at the tunnel construction site for the upgraded and new Karlsruhe-Basel rail line. According to the project's construction blog, participants visited the site in Rastatt last Thursday, where they learned about the roles and daily work of female engineers. On-site in the tunnel, experts explained technical processes and safety requirements, while also showcasing how different specialized teams collaborate.

A hands-on exercise further deepened their understanding of structural planning and statics. The event aimed to inspire young women to pursue careers in technical fields, as stated in an official release. Girls' Day is widely recognized as a key initiative for career guidance and professional exploration.
