Austria Launches First LL.M. in Restructuring and Insolvency Law for Professionals

A new master’s program in restructuring and insolvency law is launching in Austria. The University of Graz and the Academy of Tax Advisors and Auditors (ASW) have joined forces to offer the LL.M., designed for professionals in a fast-growing field. The 12-month course responds to rising demand for expertise in corporate recovery and financial restructuring. The part-time LL.M. in Restructuring and Insolvency Law has been structured to fit the needs of working professionals. It blends in-person classes in Graz and Vienna with distance-learning modules. The curriculum has been updated, modularised, and condensed into a single year, allowing students to earn 60 ECTS credits.

Tuition for the program is set at €11,200. It targets tax and legal advisors, management consultants, banking specialists, and creditor protection experts. Graduates will receive the title Master of Laws (LL.M.), equipping them for high-demand roles in restructuring and insolvency. A virtual information session is scheduled for June 25, 2026. The event will provide details on course content, admission requirements, and career prospects for participants.

The program addresses a clear gap in professional training, offering specialised knowledge in a field increasingly vital to business and finance. With a mix of online and on-site learning, it aims to prepare experts efficiently for the challenges of modern insolvency and restructuring work.
