University of Melbourne transforms library services with Clarivate's digital upgrade
The University of Melbourne has partnered with Clarivate to upgrade its library services with modern digital solutions. The deal builds on a long-standing relationship spanning over 20 years. The new systems will improve how students and researchers access resources and data. Clarivate’s technology will introduce advanced discovery tools for library users. These systems aim to simplify operations and support decisions based on real-time data. Over 2,700 libraries globally already use similar solutions from the company.
The upgrade includes new library management systems, improved resource sharing, and subject-specific reading lists. A key focus is creating a more user-friendly platform for students and staff. The tools will also integrate academic AI and linked data to enhance learning, teaching, and research.
Earlier this year, the university’s Mobile Learning Unit chose Rimini Street to manage its Salesforce operations. This partnership will strengthen course delivery, case management, and student support. The combined efforts with Clarivate and Rimini Street reflect the university’s push to modernise its digital infrastructure. The new library systems will provide faster access to academic materials and streamline administrative tasks. Students and researchers will benefit from improved search functions and tailored reading lists. The university’s long-term collaboration with Clarivate ensures continuity while introducing cutting-edge technology.
