Smartgrade and CUSP partner to transform school assessment data analysis
Smartgrade and CUSP have announced a new partnership to streamline assessment data for schools. The collaboration will link CUSP’s curriculum-aligned tests with Smartgrade’s analytics platform. Both organizations shared the news on LinkedIn, highlighting the benefits for educators using the CUSP framework.
The partnership will allow schools following the CUSP curriculum to upload and analyze assessment results through Smartgrade’s system. This integration aims to help teachers review student performance directly against curriculum goals. CUSP’s frameworks, built on evidence-based methods like retrieval practice and interleaving, will now connect with Smartgrade’s data tools.
During the beta phase, three Multi Academy Trusts—Harris Federation, United Learning Trust, and Inspiration Trust—will test the system. CUSP confirmed that this initial stage will run throughout its CUSP Assessments Beta year, with further updates planned later in the term. Smartgrade specializes in helping schools design, manage, and interpret internal assessment data. Joshua Perry, the company’s co-founder, described the partnership as a natural fit, aligning with Smartgrade’s original mission. CUSP, which works with over 700 schools across the UK and abroad, will now offer its users a more efficient way to track progress.
The collaboration will provide schools with clearer insights into assessment outcomes. By combining CUSP’s structured curriculum with Smartgrade’s analytics, educators can align data more closely with teaching objectives. The beta phase will determine next steps for wider implementation.
