RM Assessment strengthens education tech with new partnerships and awards push
RM, which supports educational institutions with digital assessment software, has been working with Johannesburg-based Lebone Media since 2020, initially launching e-marking in the Gauteng Department of Education in South Africa during the Covid-19 pandemic in a successful pilot.
The two organisations will now expand the number of papers marked digitally, increasing the number of marking sessions from one to two and increasing to a total of 500,000-750,000 scripts each year.
RM says its system makes the marking process quicker, more accurate and more secure, while also reducing costs and saving time for exam markers.
Writing on LinkedIn, RM's Chief Executive Officer and Chair Mark Cook comments: "Extremely pleased to extend our partnership with Lebone Media to deliver e-marking in South Africa."
"We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Lebone after five highly successful years working together," adds Dr Gráinne Watson, Chief Operating Officer at RM.
"Our introduction of e-marking has improved the speed, accuracy and efficiency of exam marking in the region, and we're excited to be extending that further. As we continue to find new ways to improve our processes, the introduction of a new digital training system will make sure that markers are able to quickly and confidently assess exams."
Last year, RM signed a new five-year contract with Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The agreement continues their 15-year collaboration and supports Cambridge's efforts to expand its digital assessment capabilities.
