Greece's new digital platform transforms public school registrations and transfers
Greece has launched a new electronic system for student registrations and transfers in public schools. The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, along with the Ministry of Digital Governance, introduced the eΔΕΔΑ platform for the 2024-2027 school year. Parents and guardians will now handle most procedures online, though some exceptions apply for certain grades.
The eΔΕΔΑ system will manage registrations and transfers for public gymnasiums, lyceums, and technical-vocational schools. Applications for 1st grade public gymnasiums must be submitted between 5 and 15 February 2026. For 1st grade public lyceums and Τ.Ε.Σ.Ε.Κ., the window runs from 16 to 27 February 2026.
Transfers for 1st grade public gymnasiums will be accepted from 2 to 13 March 2026. Those seeking transfers to 1st grade public lyceums and Τ.Ε.Σ.Ε.Κ. must apply between 16 and 31 March 2026. However, electronic applications will not be available for 2nd and 3rd grade registrations in public schools.
To complete the process, parents or guardians must first create a CY Login account. They then access the eΔΕΔΑ platform, set up their own profile, and create one for their child. After submitting the application, students are encouraged to visit their local school.
Official updates and announcements from educational departments will be posted on the Ministry of Education's website. For accurate statistics on the number of schools, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) remains the recommended source.
The new eΔΕΔΑ system aims to simplify school registrations and transfers for the coming years. Parents and guardians must follow the online steps, even for grades not covered by electronic applications. The Ministry of Education continues to provide guidance through its official channels.
