Young History Teacher Wins Russia’s Top Prize for Innovative Teaching Strategies
A prestigious teaching award has been presented in Moscow to a young history teacher from Nizhny Novgorod. Tatiana Lezhebokova won the I Chose Teaching – 2025 contest, held for educators with no more than three years of experience. The ceremony took place in the capital, recognising her dedication to modern teaching strategies and lifelong learning.
The competition brought together nine young teachers from various schools. After a rigorous selection process, five finalists remained, with Lezhebokova ultimately taking the top prize. She received a traveling trophy, handed over by last year’s winner, Daria Kolbasova.
Lezhebokova’s win marks another milestone for the I Chose Teaching – 2025 initiative. The award celebrates young professionals who bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to education. Her success, along with the contributions of fellow finalists, underscores the contest’s role in supporting the next generation of teachers.
