Young Entrepreneurs Turn Recycled Materials Into a Thriving Small Business

Ten young people have completed the Become an Entrepreneur programme led by the youth organisation Die GründerJugend. The initiative trained participants in key business skills, from creative problem-solving to financial planning. Their first project—a line of recycled bookmarks—has already taken shape.

The training covered essential topics like market research, marketing tactics, and budget management. Participants put these lessons into practice by designing and producing bookmarks from recycled materials. Their goal was to create a small business that supports both the Shindisi Youth Club and the wider community.

The Shindisi Youth Club now runs a small business producing recycled bookmarks. The initiative provides practical experience for young entrepreneurs while supporting local sustainability efforts. Further developments are expected as the group expands its operations.
