Young artists invited to explore peace and community in new contest

A new art competition for young people has opened, encouraging creativity around themes of peace and community. The Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) launched its Student Art Contest on September 21, 2024, inviting entries from children and teenagers aged 6 to 17. Participants have just over a month to submit their original artwork before the deadline on October 24.

The contest welcomes submissions in various forms, including drawings, paintings, collages, and mixed media. Each entrant can upload one digital photograph of their work through an online form. The competition is divided into three age groups: 6-8, 9-12, and 13-17 years old.

All artwork must focus on peace, safety, community, or nonviolence. Depictions of violence or weaponry are not allowed. Parental or guardian permission is required for both participation and the potential publication of entries.

Selected winners will be announced on December 11, 2024. Their work will then feature in an online exhibition scheduled for January 19-20, 2025. Questions about the contest can be sent to the organisers at [email protected].

The contest runs until October 24, with winners revealed in December. Successful entries will be showcased in a virtual gallery early next year. Full details and the submission form are available at https://form.jotform.com/AdminJP/EPF-Student-Art-Contest-Form.
